| Gone are the days when the gifts,
toys and housewares (GTH) industry lagged behind other industry earners.
The GTH industry is a potent tool for the province’s economic development
especially in generating foreign exchange and employment. |
| The gifts, toys and housewares industry’s
advantage lies in the inherent creativity of its craftsmen, the availability
of a wide range of indigenous raw materials which environment-friendly
and ready access to a highly skilled, highly trainable and professional
work force, aggressive and highly competent entrepreneurs, a very
advanced infrastructure compared to other regions in the country. |
| Given all those advantages, Cebu
is committed to become a top supplier of gifts, toys and housewares
items in the world market. Cebu’s GTH envisions itself as one of the
fastest growing pillars of the province’s consumer-manufactured goods
sector. The industry aims to capture the medium and high-end niche
of the world market by maintaining its design superiority and enhancing
product quality and competitiveness. |
| Recognizing the emerging consciousness
of consumers worldwide who had become more discriminating, Cebu’s
GTH industry is confident that the inherent creativity and high degree
of craftsmanship of its workers would strengthen its hold in the world
market. |
